Trail Talk – 9/21/21

HIGH ADVENTURE NEWS

Since we were unable to secure a spot in 2022 for Seabase we are changing our rotation of High Adventure schedule.

GREAT NEWS:  We will be going to Boundary Waters next year July 8-17, 2022.  This is an awesome trip where nature abounds.  You will see eagles, loons, maybe a moose or even a bear. Fishing can be fantastic, nothing like hooking a 24 inch pike or walleye and having it for dinner.  You can also catch bass, big ones!!!

We will be staying at the lodge the first night at the outfitter and having a great dinner.  The next morning we head out into the wilderness.  After 6 days you will return to the outfitter for a great meal and a good night sleep.  SIGN UP NOW, A $80 DEPOSIT IS DUE WHEN YOU SIGN UP. TENTATIVE IS $700 PER PERSON.  Age requirement: 12 with a parent. 13 and older without a parent but parents are welcomed to attend.

POP CANS, BOTTLES FUNDRAISER

The troop in an effort to keep the cost of registration fees as past years is to collect pop cans and plastic bottles and glass bottles to raise funds for the troop general fund.  Your support is really appreciated .  Ask neighbors and friends for their collections.  If someone needs to have the pop cans or bottles picked up, let me know.  Scouts who return bottles and cans to the store for deposit will receive 30% of the value of the pop cans they turned in.  Tonight we have 8 bags ready to be deposited.  The bin for collections is behind the yellow trailer at the church.

EAGLE SCOUT PROJECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shota Sullins is doing his Eagle project this Saturday at the church on September 25. Starting at 9 am. He is asking for help from his fellow scouts and adults to help him with this project.  The project is putting a fence around the church’s memorial garden so that people just don’t walk through it but respect the memories of those who have been placed there.  Lunch will be served.
