Fathers, Mothers, Sons and Daughters

In Troop 244, our parents are our most valued resources, after our scouts themselves. Scouting has long been known for building strong bonds between fathers and their children. Many fathers and children have built stronger relationships through the time spent together on the trail, around a campfire, or learning CPR together. Today mothers are also becoming active participants in their childs’ growth and development.

At Troop 244, mothers are not just welcome, but are at the center of our adult leadership, and our moms experience the same pride in their son’s growth and accomplishments as Troop 244 dads.

But fear not, moms and dads. You don’t have to have been a scout to become a scout parent. Experience is not necessary; just an interest in sharing in your child’s adventure in scouting, and the adventure of seeing your child grow from a youth to a responsible adult in a few short years.
