Trail Talk – 10/7/19

NOTE FROM HANK:
Thanks to everyone for your generosity and support last week at the court of honor. This is very uplifting to me and I really appreciate your encouragement and kind words. I would like to thank all of you for giving me the opportunity to serve your son or daughter in the scouting program. This has been fun and enjoyable as well as rewarding to see your scouts grow and learn new skills, to have experience in outdoor activities, to mature in age and to show respect for others.
The Lord willing I will continue to serve as scoutmaster, not just because its fun, I really like it.

COMMUNICATION:
Communication is vital to any organization and scouting is no different. Our troop has many things going on and keeping track with all the other things on your plate, Its hard to keep it organized. Our troop communicates by Email, (Trail Talk) Facebook Page, We have the troop website (troop 244doesmore), A (APP) for advancement ( See Jeff Crawford to sign up if you don’t have this APP) We have the Activity board up and you can see what’s coming, ( sign up for things that interest you). And of course you can always call Me (Hank)
To continue to communicate what we are doing we will be holding our first TRAIL TALK meeting for parents ( no scouts) that are interested to find out how things work in scouting, what activities are planned, how can a adult get involved (its only 1 hour a week☺) or any questions that you have. I (Hank) will be hosting this meeting the very first time on October 15 at 7:05pm in the community room at the church, Other leaders will also join me. This will be a great way to know WHAT’S HAPPENING. Plus we will have coffee, pop, water and cookies to snack on. The meeting will last about 45 minutes longer if you need it.
Our ultimate goal is to keep you the parent informed, give us ideas, if you have concerns, etc.
