Trail Talk – 01/29/24

February 11 is Scout Sunday.  We would like all Scouts to attend the 8:30am service or the 10:30am services. This is an opportunity for the troop to thank the church for all the things they do for Troop 244. It is also to celebrate the birth of Scouts in the United States. Your participation is very important to show that appreciation for the church and its support. Please wear your scout uniform, neckerchief and merit badge sash. Looking forward to see you all there. Please be at the church 15 minutes before the services.

The February Campout has been changed to March 1-3. Camp will be at Anthony Wayne reservation. This is for all Scouts and leaders. All scouts and adult leaders are asked to attend. This will be a Philmont shakedown weekend. The cost will be $40 per person.

CLIMB KALAMAZOO

After thoughtful consideration we have determined the cost for Climb Kalamazoo is too expensive for a one night climb. We are canceling this event because it is cost prohibitive.

PHILMONT 2024

  • All fees for Philmont are due by Feb. 27.
  • Physicals due by May 1st
  • Wilderness First Aid May 4 and 5. ALL adults are expected to attend this training. Please let me know you will attend. There is no cost for this event.

COURT OF HONOR AND DINNER

  • March 5th starting at 6pm we will be having our troop dinner and court of honor.
  • Dinner will be served at 6pm and the cost per person is $8 a plate. Please sign up on the activity board and how many will attend.
  • The Court of Honor starts at 7pm This is for the entire family to attend.

Springfield Illinois Lincoln Pilgrimage, this is a great event and cost will be $50. We must know who is going. Please sign up for the activity. Please sign up by March 1st. We will be leaving at 1pm from the church. you will have to leave school early.

Beef Sticks sales. This is a great way to make money for your account. See Derrick at the troop meetings for more details.

SUMMER CAMP 2024

  • Cost is the same price as last year. $400 per youth.
  • Cost for adults is $200 per person.
  • We will start collecting this fee starting Tuesday Jan. 30, 2024.
  • Fee due date is April 16, 2024.
